Which forecast should I use?
Use NHC for Atlantic, Eastern Pacific and Central Pacific cyclone advisories. Use your local National Weather Service office for rainfall, inland flooding and location-specific alerts. A storm track alone does not describe every local hazard.
Atlantic and Pacific dates
The Atlantic season runs June 1–November 30. The Eastern Pacific season starts May 15 and ends November 30. Season dates help with preparation, but check current outlooks rather than assuming that a date implies a storm is present.
Read the advisory time
NHC products use different local time zones and UTC. Compare the advisory issue time, the affected area and the forecast validity before sharing a map. Keep the official source link with it.
