Find Japan’s official cyclone, hurricane or typhoon information. This guide links to the responsible agency; it does not reproduce live local warnings.
Typhoon information from JMA
The Japan Meteorological Agency provides typhoon information through its disaster-prevention map. Open the typhoon layer to inspect official track forecasts, then check the warning layers for the area you need.
Track forecasts and local impacts
A typhoon forecast concerns the cyclone; local wind, rainfall, flooding and landslide warnings concern specific places. Read both. Islands, coastal areas and inland communities can have different conditions during the same storm.
Check names and time zones
Regional sources may identify a system by name or typhoon number. Match the identifier and issue time before comparing reports. JMA information should be the primary source for warnings in Japan.
