Australian tropical cyclone forecasts

The Bureau of Meteorology publishes Australian tropical cyclone forecasts, track maps and advice. Its official tropical cyclone season runs November 1–April 30; rare out-of-season systems can occur.

Track map and warning areas

Read the watch or warning areas together with the forecast track map. The track concerns the center; rainfall, flooding and coastal conditions can extend farther away.

Different scales and products

Australian cyclone categories and warning products are defined by BOM. Do not directly substitute a U.S. hurricane category or NHC warning time. Use the Australian advice and local emergency instructions.
